MOPLA continues....Through the end of April

The third/fourth week of the 7th annual Month of Photography LA (MOPLA) promises a wide range of contemporary photography events, exhibitions, discussions and more, in a diverse array of traditional and non-traditional settings.

Saturday, April 18: #_Mass by Carson Davis Brown, presented by Building Bridges Art Exchange and Month of Photography Los Angeles. #_Mass is a photography exhibition of work created inside of "Big Box' stores without permission using found materials within each location. The works are made, photographed and left to be experienced by the passersby, and ultimately disassembled by location staff. Also Saturday, April 18: Josue Castro – 'Pure Hedonism. Hedonism Pure' is an official MOPLA Exhibition, presented by Building Bridges Art Exchange in collaboration with the National Council for Culture and Arts Mexico, Tijuana Cultural Center, and the Museum of Photographic Arts, San Diego. Castro invites prominent chefs of Valle de Guadalupe, Baja California, Mexico, Javier Plascencia, Ryan Steyn, Drew Deckman, Karla Navarro, Giannina Galvadon, Bianca Castro, Monica Palafox and Hugo D'Acosta among others to pose in a series of photographs creating a gratifyingly tense dialogue about human nature.
