New Artists part of BBAX International Program and New Advisory Board Member: Shana Nys Dambrot

Shana Nys Dambrot is an art critic, curator, and author based in Los Angeles. She is currently LA Editor for WhiteHot Magazine, Arts Editor for Vs. Magazine, Contributing Editor for Art Ltd., and a contributor to the Huffington Post, The Creators Project, Porter & Sail, Desert Magazine, and KCET's Artbound. Formerly Managing Editor at Flavorpill, her other publications have included the LA Weekly, Modern Painters, Art Review, Palm Springs Life, Artweek, ARTnews, tema celeste, ArtAsia Pacific, Coagula, and Juxtapoz. She grew up in Chelsea back when it was still all thug-life, studied Art History at Vassar College, bailed for the land of lotus-eaters in 1995, and forewent the planned prodigal return when she discovered how deep LA's still waters run. Besides all the magazine stuff, she writes loads of essays for books and exhibition catalogs, curates one or two exhibitions a year, and speaks in public with alarming frequency.
