Melanie Pullen: A History of Violence
LA artist Melanie Pullen will be showing "A History of Violence" at BBAX Gallery, a curated selection of photography and video art from her highly conceptual and political body of work. Selecting work from her "High Fashion Crimes Scenes" and "Violent Times" series, Pullen will simultaneously examine and criticize what is known as the 'dumbing down effect,' in which the media has diminished the nature of violence, trauma, and social conflict by producing highly stylized and glamorized interpretations of humanity's trials and tribulations.
